Missed this one. It is very dramatic. While there are increases and decreases in temperature worldwide and over a number of years the clear trend towards increases in recent years is so marked, and worrying.
Is there anyone who doesn't believe climate change is happening at that the major cause is us?
I do understand what you're saying, Ian... about how it's become a political minefield, and if you disagree, (like David Bellamy did) then you become a pariah.
However, I do think for too long the human race has seen the earth as something to be expoited, strip-mined, fracked, land-filled, over-fished, over-logged and polluted without any consideration for the long-term effects.
We've basically been treating our planet like a toilet for too long. At some point, we are going to be called upon to pay the price.
Starting with a country who ought to (by now) know better.... this to me was the saddest statement in the entire article:
"The Pacific Ocean which covers much of the U.S. border is easily one of the most polluted waterways within United States territory."
