The water soldiers in our 3 year old wildlife pond are really flourishing too this year, lots of daughter plants surfaced with the parents recently. In fact I will have to thin some out I'm afraid as they're crowding out the lily pads that are also surfacing
Our pond is in shadow all winter, and is only now getting proper sunlight on it. The water soldiers are starting to come up, but haven't made it to the surface quite yet.
The starwort is becoming worse than duckweed! I've had to thin it out twice already, (I've tried taking it out completely, but it is persistent stuff... one little strand left, and it's off and running again.
The water forget-me-not is doing really well, though... bigger than it's been in previous years. I'll get a photo of it tomorrow.

The fringed water lily is doing well- some years it's really struggled, and the leaves have been yellow-ish and straggly. So far it's looking good, but the water soldiers are still semi-submerged, and there isn't so many of them.
