Caught this absolutely delightful documentary, with amazing photography, on channel 5, so am recording the series. The first series was mainly about barn and little owls, with reference to long eared and tawny. the Little Owls were adorable, so expressive with their movements an expressions. I never realised the Long-eared were so large (only ever seen one), almost the size of a large raptor. Got very upset set by a squirrel determined to take over Little Owl nest and finally succeeded fighting Little Owl sitting on eggs, out and built its own. Little Owl came back and tried to find her eggs, which were by now deep under twigs and grass etc. The end shot was her and hubby sitting on branch, now homeless snuggled up together and looking sad. I cannot wait till next installment.
