BBC2 Huge's Wild West. Watched this last night and am going to record the series. It was just amazing, especially the photography, but best of all was an in depth bit about Dippers and the most amazing woman who has been recording, tagging and watching over their nests for over 40 years. At her age still scrabbling down steep slopes to get to river banks, using a ladder to get to nests that were out of reach, crawling down tunnels, wading through waterfalls. Nearly had kittens just watching her. There was amazing footage of the Dippers under water and how they use their wings and why their feet can grip the bottom. Thoroughly recommend a watch. The name of the programme nearly had me not watching, as I assumed it was something about America. It is Lifelong nature lover Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall pursuing his fascination with the wildlife of the West Country and teams up with the region's most dedicated nature lovers.
