A couple of my elderly azalea have come into bud, quite a few primrose have sent up new leaves, the jasmine has three flowers opened. I cut back all my herbs to ground level and to my surprise the chives. comfrey, fennel, thyme and mace have all sent up new growth and my strawberries (grown in a pot out doors) has sent up new leaves. the parsley has not stopped growing, just keeps increasing itself. So I ask myself does this normally happen at this time of year and I have just forgotten? Or was it because for the first time I actually had a major clear up of leaves and cut or pruned everything back at the end of Autumn.
We've got things blooming as well... it's going to be a shock if and when winter does finally arrive. It is far too mild for this time of year; when I filled the feeders this morning i only needed a lightweight jumper on- normally it would require hat, gloves, scarf and a thick cable-knit, at the very least.
