At Bookham today highlights included watching several Hornets hunting around the Common Fleabane, another Xanthogramma pedissequum amongst several commoner hoverflies + my IOD- the delightful Green Tortoise Beetle, Cassida viridis.
I picked up what I believed to be a dead hawker from the pavement. As I looked closely I could see it was a female Migrant Hawker. Then to my surprise it began to spring back to life. It had been a cold night so must have been torpid. Managed to place her on the large bush next to me.
